PUERTO AVENTURAS
Location & getting there:
Located just South of Playa del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras was thought to be a great place with a marina, villas, condos, shopping area, golf course and hotels. Puerto Aventuras is just a great little destination.

Puerto Aventuras itself
Aventura Palace hotel (a huge hotel at the North)
Barcelo hotels (South)
Xpu Ha (South)
Ambience:
Relaxed. It can also be fancy.
Ideal for:
Families, adults, fishers, people who want to relax.
Not ideal for:
Party animals. Yes, maybe the party is great in your hotel, but in Puerto Aventuras thre are no nightclubs.
Things to do:
Just relax on the beach
Fishing
Sailing
Snorkeling /diving in the ocean or in sinkholes (cenotes)
Swimming with the dolphins ate the marina
Visiting the museum

Shopping:
There is a nice shopping area around the marina. Little restaurants, shops, handcrafts shops, real estate, cafés and so on. Also you will find many shops at the hotels.
There is also a big shop just in front, they sale diamonds, lots of jewerly and some handcrafts.
Food:
There are some restaurants and cafés by the marina, check them out. The choices are American, Mexican, French and Italian. Usually these places served by the owners, which makes it more enjoyable.
Diving:
Try the cenotes (sinkholes) there are many around.
Transportation:
There are buses that will take you from city to city, very cheap and will regular times. But better take the "colectivos" which are vans that run along the highway. Taxis can be found, just consider the price.
Beach conditions:
Beaches vary from very good (Omni hotel) to just ok.
